Can I have Medicare and Medicaid at the same time?

Yes. People who qualify for both programs are sometimes called dual eligible. Medicare generally pays first for Medicare-covered services, while Medicaid may help pay Medicare premiums, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and services Medicare does not cover. Eligibility rules vary by state.
